Training:

Lee Lim graduated from the University of New South Wales, Sydney in 1997 and undertook Obstetrics and Gynaecology specialist training in Oxford. She spent four years as a clinical fellow in Oxford Fertility Unit and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Oxford with original research into the role of cytokine and in vitro embryo development. In 2008, Lee was appointed to the RCOG Subspecialty Trainee in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery in Oxford.

Career Activity:

Lee has been appointed as NHS Fertility Service Lead Consultant at the Oxford University Hospitals (OUH) NHS Foundation Trust since 2011, leading the fertility team of clinicians and nurse specialists, providing a secondary care fertility service. The range of services provided includes preconception counselling, fertility investigation, ovulation induction, follicular tracking ultrasound scanning, appropriate referral for assisted conception and premature ovarian failure investigation, treatment and counselling. Lee also sees patients with recurrent miscarriage, polycystic ovarian syndrome, chronic pelvic pain and general gynaecological complaints such menstrual irregularity, dysmenorrhoea and heavy periods. She also provides emergency gynaecology services such as management of miscarriages, ectopic pregnancy, torsion of ovarian cysts and acute pelvic pain. As a gynaecological surgeon, Lee operates on fertility optimisation surgery, endometriosis cases, removing uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, hysterectomy, hysteroscopic operative surgery such as removing uterine polyps, fibroid or adhesions. Lee previously worked as an IVF consultant in Oxford Fertility Unit and can provide a full range of fertility treatment including, donor insemination, intrauterine insemination, the full range of IVF and ICSI treatment. Lee is also passionate about patient safety and quality care; she is the Gynaecology Governance Lead at OUH.

Awards and merits:

In 2016, Lee was nominated the RCOG National Trainer of the Year Award. 2004 Nominated European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology Best Young Clinician Award 2003 Nominated British Fertility Society Best Young Scientist Award 2000 Nominated British Fertility Society Best Young Clinician Award Co-investigator for two international, multicentre, double-blind, phase 3 clinical trials in 2002 and 2000, Leukaemia Inhibitory Factor clinical trial and Gonal-F Fill by Mass Study.
