Training:
1983-1988, Undergraduate at Queen’s University, Belfast. 1994-1997, Research Fellow to Professor Lord Robert Winston at the Hammersmith Hospital, London. 1997, University of Oxford, Sub-Specialist trainee in Reproductive Medicine, after completion joined the academic staff of the NDOG as a Senior Fellow and Honorary Consultant in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery.
Career Activity:
Over 25 years’ experience within Fertility and Reproductive Medicine research, specialising in Reproductive Medicine and Endometriosis. 1999-2012, Medical Director, Person Responsible and Lead Consultant in the Oxford Fertility Unit. Developed Oxford Endometriosis Surgical Service, now a national referral centre.
Mr McVeigh has appeared on both The Times and Tatler’s lists for “Britain’s Top Fertility Doctors”.
Teaching activity:
Associate Professor at the Nuffield Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Oxford University. 1999-2012 Director of the Sub-Specialist training program in Reproductive Medicine in Oxford. Published many academic papers and book chapters on infertility, and the role of laparoscopic surgery.
Awards and merits:
1997-2000, USAID/ WHO Women and Children programme in Ukraine and Russia. 2009-2012, HFEA committee member. December 2013: Member of Prime Minister Trade Delegation to China.
